Regulations require that hazardous materials or dangerous goods shipments be identified with proper hazmat placards, according to different standards. In the United States, 49 CFR specifies the conditions. In Canada, it's the TDG Dangerous Goods Regulations, now known as the Clear Language Regulations, which specifies situations where shipments must display dangerous goods placards. There are also specific requirements for shipments of dangerous goods by sea. (IMDG/IMO)

Types of hazardous materials and dangerous goods placards

Our placards come in several materials, tagboard, rigid vinyl, removable self-stick vinyl, and permanent self-stick vinyl. Our hazardous material placards are regulation size 10.75" x 10.75". They include: worded placards, non-worded placards, un numbered placards, blank placards, flip style placards, rail placards, orange panels, placard kits, and more.

Placards are intended to be displayed on all four sides of a truck or bulk container to identify the hazard inside.
